Did you check the number of shared memory segments (onstat -g seg) on your HP box? There are so many people who love all three (Sun, HP, IBM), that I still don't know which one is best. I've worked on Compaq (Unixware), HP and IBM and really liked IBM. Our small HP machines run ok (about 20 users), but the big one (400 users) runs like a dog. Seriously, and this is after having HP and Informix on site.
