Hi,
I have a problem with a SELECT ... INTO TEMP statement on Informix V5.01.U. I
run the following SELECT in dbaccess:
SELECT field
FROM 'owner'.table
WHERE some_condition
The 'owner'.table construction is neccessary, because the database runs in
ANSI mode. This SELECT (without INTO TEMP) returns no rows as I have expected
it. In addition, I get the following message:
Warning: Statement uses Informix extension to ANSI/ISO SQL syntax.
If I run the statement again but add INTO TEMP tmp_table, I get the following
error:
ISAM error: duplicate value for a record with unique key
For me this looks very strange. The ISAM error number is missing within this
message. If you RTFM you find out that it's -100. Concerning this number I
come up with an idea: In ANSI-compliant databases the SQLNOTFOUND value is
100. Could it be that in my database this return code is interpreted as an
error code ? If so, why ? Is it a known bug ?
Any comment/help is appreciated !
Cheers,
Dirk
