Help - new to informix

Hello All, I have a dilemma and I hope someone can help me. I work in an institution which has an old version of informix on and NCR unix box. My problem is I know very little about informix and would like to find some standard app that allows me to pass sql statements to the database and return results. If someone could let me know what it is I can run, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Tyson Oswald
The application you require is called dbaccess, and can be found in the
$INFORMIXDIR/bin directory. It's menu-driven and pretty straightforward.

If needed, you can find some DBACCESS Manual documentation that you can
either view online or download at http://www.informix.com/answers
Take care.

Besides dbaccess, already mentioned, there also may be a product called
ISQL, executable isql, which was included in REALLY old versions then was
unbundled as a separate product. It basically does what dbaccess does
but adds a menu and forms manager and a report writer. Look for that
also. As Clifton mentioned all of the Informix manuals are online on the
Informix WEB Site.
