ODBC Connection Timeout?

Does anyone know if the TXTIMEOUT parameter in the $ONCONFIG file would time out an ODBC connection after the specified period of inactivity? We have a client making an ODBC connection to our informix server and it is losing it's connection intermittently. Any other ideas on what might cause this?
