Re: Help Needed! - 461 Error Encountered

I was sorely tempted not to reply -- I can't tell from the 'Reply-To:' entry who I'm talking to, and I don't like enigmatic correspondents! Since I'd already typed the response before I noticed this, I decided to reply anyway, but I don't like not knowing who I'm talking to! Ugh! This normally occurs because the installation is incorrect; the missing file is often $INFORMIXDIR/msg/itoxmsg.pam, or the file may be incorrect. Anyway, check the installation order: TEN -- tools, engines, network. > Finderr -461 returns the following: > > "File open error. > This statement transfers a value between a file and a BYTE or TEXT > column. For some reason, it was decided to expand the scope of the message so that it not only applies to blob handling errors but also to some other errors. > What kind of file is this referring? Either a file is missing completely, or a file has the wrong information in it (because, for example, you installed the 4.1x I4GL software after installing the 5.0x ESQL/C and OnLine).
