Data Director & Developers SDK

Hi, Please pardon my lack of knowledge in Java and JDBC . Being a Informix DBA , I have been assigned the task of finding out the right products for Java based application connecting to Informix On-Line Dynamic Server 7.23.UC5 We need to write some Java based applications for retrieving data from Informix database. Browsing the Informix web site and talking to a marketing rep. we found 2 probable produts which could be used : 1. Data Director for Java 2. Developers SDK (Informix Client SDK for C/C++ and Java) Can anyone enlighten me about this products ? Some of the questions which are unresolved are 1. Do these products work with Dynamic Server 7.23.UC5 (not Universal Server) 2. What are the additional Informix products required for connectivity purposes on the server side (which has On-Line 7.23.UC5) and client side (which has ESQL/C runtime, 4GL runtime and ISQL runtime) 3. Would it work on a UNIX client as well as Windows'95 client ? 4. Would an ODBC or JDBC driver be required ? 5.
