It was renamed Informix Dynamic Server or just IDS for short some time back. That name is now used for all versions after 7.2x or something like that. IDS is delivered with a series of options. Some of these are still realy separate servers or in some cases products partly or fully outside the engine itself. However Informix plans to merge the 7.x and 9.x code lines which are plane IDS (previously OnLine) and IDS Universal Data Option (previously Universal Server) respectively into one sometime this year. At that time the Universal Data Option will be a true option that can somehow be turned on and off either upon delivery or possibly even by the user. You can read more about this at the Informix web site.
