Rowids are still (relatively) stable -- they will change if the table is re-built (eg for ALTER TABLE), but not usually in the course of normal processing (SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE). In version 5, anyway. Version 7 is a totally different story. The "different meaning" is that in OnLine, it is the actual location of the row, not just a sequence number, and rowids will not be consecutive in OnLine. This probably won't affect your code, but only you know that.
