Joe,
many of our customers had the following problems:
- install v4.x frontends with v7.1x or v7.2x backends correctly
- install v6.x frontends with v7.1x or v7.2x backends correctly (GLS !)
- new and old environment variables - where to set
- client/server connectivity; different configurations (odbc, inf-net
v5.x,
inf-net v7.x, .. .netrc, hosts.equiv, .rhosts, sqlhosts, services,
hosts )
- This theme is very hot !
- optimize the unix kernel parameters for online (semaphores, shared
memory,
swap,)
- backup / restore .. ontape, onarchive, onbar, networker,..
- import / export, onpload
- oncheck - scripts for administration
- monitoring tools - onperf, ..
- tips & tricks - what to do when ..
I think it is very difficulty to pack all the information from the
Informix books,
newsgroups, hotline information, .. in one good book - but it is
important to do
this.
