How to force logical log write to tape?

Presently, our Informix database logical logs is configured to write to our DLT tape library. I had this problem when changing tape in DLT Tape Library in Legato Networker. When a mounted tape in the tape library was being temporary ejected, and before it was fully ejected, and if there is any Informix log write happened. Networker would marked the tape in transit missing, and prompt for next tape, even if the "tape-in-transit" was under utilised. In order to prevent this from happening, I need to flush all the logs to tape prior to the intended tape ejecting. This would allow me more time to complete the ejecting cycle. There is no Informix database administrator in our workplace. Anyone could tell me the syntax to do so?
It would be nice to know what tool is used to backup stuff
since Legato is in place it is most likely onbar and
the alarmprogram is used to backup a log whenever the engine switches
logs. (please check and verify!!!!)
onstat -c |grep ALARM
ALARMPROGRAM /opt/informix/etc/log_full.sh
to switch a log:
onmode -l
then the alarmprogram is executed; wait until the log is backed up
assuming the size of your logical logs is big enough to do your switching
you can do your switch then.
check in your message log what time is between log switches.(onstat -m)
if the time is not sufficient then you may be better of to stop Legato
from accepting log.logs for a while until you're done.
Or modify the size of the log. log so you can do your business.
See you

Assuming you are using ontape for backups:
ontape -a
