I have the same problem with Kaio and hp-ux 10.20. Contacting with HP, tells : "the kernel asynchronous i/o is implemented , but don't work fine with this version of op. (Perhaps hp-ux 11 ??). JC.

I have the same problem also. Except we were using HPUX 11. Since performance is ok without KAIO and I did not have the time to run experiments with this production server it is not disabled.
