Restore request without last logical log

Hi all,
I have a system down, IBM/informix through a third party support
contract has asked me to do a restore but omitting the last logical
log. It seems the last log backed up is somehow corrupt according to
IBM techie
>>restore from archive . this is the best option - the customer could
>>restore to the logs prior to the last log used (prior to , but not
>>including 620308 ) if they have specific logs on their tape. -
thereby
>>avoiding rolling into the same problem again during recovery. This
would
>>leave the system in a logically consistent state
I am in the process of restoring the lvl 0 backup tape from the night
before
but when it comes to running ontape -l from the logical log backup
tape there is no option to specify up to which log i wish to restore -
can someone inform me of the correct procedure to do this.
unfortunatly I am finding it difficult to get hold of the people I
have the support contract with grrrrr
dd the log tape out to disk, and use count to truncate the last log (you'll
have to make a guess of this). Point your TAPEDEV to this copied file and
the log restore will just terminate neatly when it hit ends of file.
