I've created unlogged temporary tables in version 5. I don't think it works
in the select into temp table clause but you can create a temp table first
with no log, then select into it. With this method you can also control
where the temp table is built also.
It would look like:
create temp table tmp_table (col1 integer, col2 char(12), etc) with no log;
insert into tmp_table select col1, col2, etc from big_table where bla blabla;
