Re: Termcap (Right nor wrong!)

I can't say who is wrong in the Great Function Key shift. It does seem a little silly that Informix would use 'F0' for 'F1'. Considering the number of times I've seen the shift, it sounds like Informix is "wrong" here. However, unless otherwise specified, doesn't Informix try and find it's TERMCAP entry in $INFORMIXDIR/etc/termcap instead of the normal termcap? That was my understanding, but in all truth I don't think I've ever really figured it out to my complete understanding. Normally we just force the issue by forcing the termcap when they fire up the application. If Informix DOES use the $INFORMIXDIR/etc/termcap first, then you can put your Informix termcap there, and leave the normal SCO termcap as is. Otherwise, you might want to force it with a shell start up script in your system...which works hunky dory until you want to shell out and try running something ...etc...Gotta love dem termcaps! Speaking of love and termcaps, is there a centralized archive somewhere that may hold an assortment of termcaps that work with Informix? I mumbled something about this before, but never saw it bounce back to me from the list server, so I don't know if it ever found its way. Anyway, it seems that there can be a lot of benefit if there was someplace that could hold several "known" termcaps. Few things I look forward to more than hacking a termcap to get the ding-dang to work. Comments? Flames? Bueller? .... Bueller? Will (uunet!la4gen!villy) P.S. Anyone have a termcap for a AT&T 705?
