It is network atttached, not fiber or scsi or whatever - so the bandwidth depends on your connection: 10base = 1 MB/s, 100Base = 10MB/s, Fast Ethernet = 100MB/s and so on. You can use port trunking to combine two or more interface cards into one which doubles your bandwidth. We run Informix on it (they apparently have Informix certification) and get approx. 5-6 MB/s throughput. I know its not much but its better than local disks and we run a cheap shop. The filer (per its own spec) can do up to a max of +- 40MB/s. The advantage is it can be used from various platforms - NT, Unix etc etc. The filer supports NFS, CIFS and HTTP.
