The trick that our UNIX gurus here tell me is to prpoerly set up the LUNs. The reasonable choices for number of LUNs seem to be either 4 or 6. At that point, you can think of each LUN as a separate disk, and fragment tables, or distribute the database as is appropriate for your application. If you have specific questions, please let me know, and I can ask folks I work with what their recommendations are.
