Exportfs/mount a block device for database?

This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------416E9D96AF63227A7C0DC0A8 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit I have two HP machines, HP1 has 20 GB disk spaces and HP2 has 2 GB disk spaces with Informix Dynamic Server 7.3 I am wonder is OK exportfs some raw (block device) spaces in HP1. HP2 do the NFS mount, then define the dbspace chucks in those mount points? Anybody out there have this experiences? event in Sybase or Oracle servers? Or tell me something better then NFS mount. I think Oracle has SQLNet, but requires both machine install Oracle software. What about Sybase and Informix? Do they have a software support what I need?
