Read the Release Notes -- they sometimes contain useful information, like how to compile I4GL with GCC. -fwritable-strings Yours, Jonathan Leffler (johnl@informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> }From informix-list-owner@rmy.emory.edu Sun Dec 3 20:44:33 1995 }From: neal@fohnix.metronet.com (Neal Howard) }Subject: 4GL app segmentation fault on Solaris (Sparc) w/gcc }Date: 3 Dec 1995 21:49:07 -0600 }To: informix-list@rmy.emory.edu }X-Informix-List-To: eu-informix-distr@inflon.informix.com }X-Informix-List-Id: <news.19420> } }I've got a bizzare problem that's killing me. I've checked all }the usual stuff like making sure the screen fits inside the }window, the termcap entry looks good (the stock "sun" console }entry and a vt100 entry for a pc termulator telnetted into the }workstation). These exact same programs compile and run perfectly }on either an HP9000 system or a SCO system which I've compiled them }upon. Is gcc just not very stable with i4GL? Some of my apps run }perfectly on this little sparc box. The only other difference between }the unix boxes upon which I've been troubleshooting this problem is }that the HP9000 is running Online DSA 7.10 and the SCO box is running }Online 5.
