Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Hi,
My company is operating Informix Online Dynamic Server 7.14 on 2 x HP-UX =
9.04 with data replication.
We are experiencing checkpoint delays on the primary server, every now =
and then, and I would like to
find out whether anyone else has experienced this phenomenon while =
running data replication.
I am seeing that @ checkpoint times (they roll over about every 5 =
minutes as specified) that occasionally the checkpoint takes about 4-7 =
seconds to complete (this is what 'onstat -r 1 -u' tells me).
The PHYSBUFF value is 32; therefore the 'onstat -l' physical log section =
shows buffers =3D 16. The page i/o =3D 15.64. I believe the PHYSBUFF =
value may be too low. Is it that page i/o > 75% of buffer value could =
cause delays in checkpoints?
The major problem is that the test system is only one HP-UX 9.04 server =
and therefore I cannot test any changes effectively.
If you need more info please e-mail me.
TIA.
