If you are looking for a fallback machine, this is what the hot site backup was designed to do. I don't think it available yet, but it's pretty close. From my understanding, the fallback machine would have a read-only copy of the database, and be brought up to date by transferring the logs, and applying them, much like in a recovery situation.
