SMP support in the current kernel is a big improvement over the last major release, however, the impending 4.x.x release promises even better performance with more than 8 CPUs. As for RAW disk, the RAW support was developed for the last kernel and was accepted as an add on for the 2.x.x kernel. It will be a delivered module in the 4.x.x kernels. There are a few folk playing with RAW and Informix and it seems to be working just fine, I don't think it is ready for production yet, but very soon. Art S. Kagel
