Get following message in the online.log.All client can't connect to IDS. I found the "Maximum server connections 0" in the log file.So I thing the problem is related about the message. Larry The Maximum Server Connections in the online log shows the maximum number of connections in use since the last checkpoint, not the maximum number of allowed connections. As you have just started your server has it been left in quiescent state of is it fully online? Are there any messages coming back from your client connection attempts? Hi, online.log message log contains only messages from the server (not from any client). Since it obviously doesn't contain any error or warning message, but only shows normal operation, I guess you need to look at the client side for more information. Probably the client will produce some sort of error when it tries to connect. You need to get this error (code or message) to find out, what the problem is. Apart from the above, I can only guess, that you have some sort of configuration problem on the client side. Either they are trying to connect to a wrong server (check clients' sqlhosts file(s) and INFORMIXSERVER env variable setting), or they try to connect to the wrong machine (also sqlhosts file) or they are trying to use the wrong protocol (for which the server has no listener running, also check sqlhosts file). Otherwise you may have any kind of network issue. Anyway, the error code/message on the client side should give you a better clue of the problem. The "Maximum server connections 0" in the message log only tells you, that for the time the server has been running, the maximum number of connections (so far) has been zero, which means, that no client has connected yet. Well, for your case this is quite correct, as you have noticed this fact already. [ It doesn't mean that there is a (hard) limit of that many possible connects. ] Regards, Martin -- Martin Fuerderer IBM Informix Development Munich Data Management Solutions "Li Jingjing...." <lijingjing@yeah.net> Sent by: forum.subscriber@iiug.org 17.03.2003 12:42 To: ids@iiug.org cc: Subject: Maximum server connections 0 [734] Get following message in the online.log.All client can't connect to IDS.
