Hi,
I am trying to make a temp db space using the command onspaces -d
tempdbs1 -t -p /usasdb/tempdbs1 -o 8 -s 500000. It came back with
memory segment fault, and produced a core dump and said shared memory not
initialized. Then I used onmonitor and it came back saying I have to
initilizae diskspace. I said yes, and all of my data was gone. How can I
get the data back? I am using coldfusion as a front end and it cannot find
the data source.
We are using solaris 2.6, INFORMIX-OnLine Version 7.24.UC2.
and my onconfig file is.

Hi,
Almost everyone suggested that I restore using backup from a tape.
That was plan and i called the full time employee asking if he had the
backup. He said they do. I guess I should had made a backup myself using
dbexport. The tape backup is a file system backup. Developers made a cron
job to run everynight asking it to backup the informix deirectory. But
someone changed the path of the root-dbs onto a seperate partiton from the
informix directory as the system developers intended. As far as system
administrator, I wear that cap too. Guess I am really screwed, for trusting
my boss, full time employess and developers.
Raj.
P.S:- I know this is not the type of stuff that is posted on this
newsgroup, but I needed a place to vent my anger and frustation. Thanks for
reading this and sorry for taking up your time.
