Everyone has tar? Now that's funny. Windows doesn't and you have to download a third party archiving package. (Which works btw) Its nice that once you get the tar open its a simple click and install jar file. But the point is that they could be a bit more friendly on the front side. -G Date: Fri, 31 Oct 2008 12:29:06 -0500 From: jeansagi.ifx@gmail.com To: im_gumby@hotmail.com Subject: Re: Is it just me? CC: scottm@dinecollege.edu; informix-list@iiug.org Once I talked this to someone at IBM... Response was more or less this: Everyone has tar ... ( a capable untar program I mean ) ... Go figure! At least windows windows version is zipped... J. PS: I bet at IBM they know 7z compress far better than tar ;) 2008/10/31 Ian Michael Gumby <im_gumby@hotmail.com> Thanks, but the point was that IBM's website doesn't have zip but just tar. It was more of a suggestion that IBM do what other sites do. Offer tar, zip, gzip, etc based on platform specified. Subject: RE: Is it just me? I know everyone has griped about IBM's website, but here's the latest.... I needed to download the JDBC drivers for my PC. At the IBM site, the latest drivers are only in tar format. Does anyone see an issue with this? My engine is on Linux, my client is on a pc. Or did I miss something when I scurried around the site looking for Informix JDBC drivers. -G Stay organized with simple drag and drop from Windows Live Hotmail.
