Re: any known problem with Data Replication in Informix?

I've used mirroring on HP-UX 9, Online v5 and it's OK. We've considered HDR at my HP-UX 10.20, Informix v7.24UC6 site, but rejected in favour of using HP-UX's logical volume manager(lvm) mirroring. You can do some quite sexy stuff with this if you're careful, like breaking the mirror on occasion to provide an instant back-up before, say, a major upgrade. I think the conventional wisdom is to use hardware mirror in preference to software mirroring, and op system mirroring in preference to DBMS mirroring. Any reason for rejecting lvm mirroring?
