Informix OLE DB PROVIDER Problem

I downloaded the lastest INFORMIX SDK and installed the INFORMIX OLE DB PROVIDER.Using Visual Basic 6.0, I used the Microsoft ADO data control(oledb).When I select Informix OLE DB Provider, I get the message "Provider is No Longer Available". I can use the OLE DB driver for ODBC ok. Any Help would be appreciated. I am just getting started using basic - I work with R4GL.
