You create a control file, which specifies which character columns comprise data fields. With a clever control file, data fields can be reordered, duplicated, etc., during data loading. It is also possible to load data using the SQL LOAD command, which uses a "|" character as field delimiter. Since xbase will output comma separated value files, you might be able to manipulate these to be acceptable to the LOAD command. Overall, I think using DBLOAD is more straight forward.
