This is non-fatal. Looks like you have N CPU VPs and more than N CPU poll
threads configured. Poll threads are configured in the ONCONFIG file with
the NETTYPE parameters. They look like this:
NETTYPE ipcshm,4,300,CPU
NETTYPE tlitcp,2,600,NET
Multiply the second field (4 or 2 in the records above) times the number of
connections listed in DBSERVERALIASES plus one for the connection listed
in DBSERVERNAME that are described in the sqlhosts file to use the protocol
in the first field of that record (here ipcshm or tlitcp). The product is
the number of poll threads of each type (CPU or NET from field 4) that you
are asking the engine to configure. So with the NETTYPEs above and:
DBSERVERNAME fred
DBSERVERALIAS wilma_mate,barney_friend,pebbles_dad
and with sqlhosts:
fred onipcshm house.bedrock.com sqlshm
wilma_mate onipcshm house.bedrock.com sqlshm2
barney_friend ontlitcp house.bedrock.com sqltcp1
pebbles_dad ontlitcp house.bedrock.com sqltcp2
There are two shared memory connections asking for 4 CPU listeners threads
each. If you do not have 8 CPU VPs the engine will have to start NET VPs
instead. That is all that the message is saying.
