Not really used anymore, replaced with DBSPACETEMP and PSORT_DBTEMP. This was used in OL4 & 5 to place sort-work files in filesystems and similarly for some kinds of temp tables. The former is not controlled by either DBSPACETEMP or PSORT_DBTEMP depending on whether parallel sorting is enabled and if the latter is set. Art S. DBTEMP (IDS) The DBTEMP environment variable is used by DB-Access and IBM Informix Enterprise Gateway products as well as by Dynamic Server and by earlier database servers. DBTEMP resembles DBSPACETEMP, specifying the directory in which to place temporary files and temporary tables.
