Re: Core dump well into 4GL application ( Linux )

Hi Obnoxio The Clown, Thanks for your email. Would my source code help? It's over 15,000 lines for the module. I don't have the source to the Informix libraries :-). The Informix environment should complain with an Informix error code well before it turns into a segmantation fault. I can post the 4GL source but, unless I'm missing something, it won't be much use. I know it happens in 4GL function stk_res2m(), this is a less informative core dump with the 4gl app' compiled with the gcc 'g' option: (gdb) where #0 0x401fbee9 in chunk_free (ar_ptr=0x40290040, p=0x8403558) at malloc.c:3047 #1 0x401fbd75 in __libc_free (mem=0x8403560) at malloc.c:2959 #2 0x40094cb0 in ixfrehwm () from /u/informix/lib/tools/lib4gsh730.so #3 0x40094d11 in ixrsthwm () from /u/informix/lib/tools/lib4gsh730.so #4 0x80f4aab in stk_res2m () #5 0x8102907 in stk_result () #6 0x8148632 in main () #7 0x401bb1eb in __libc_start_main (main=0x814694c <main>, argc=2, argv=0xbffffbd4, init=0x804ba00 <_init>, fini=0x8167b78 <_fini>, rtld_fini=0x4000a610 <_dl_fini>, stack_end=0xbffffbcc) at ../sysdeps/generic/libc-start.c:90 (gdb) Cheers, Chris.
