If I see you at the next conference, you get a free beer! :-) Thanks much!!! Tim PS Here's the locator.h code snippette if anyone else is interested: cd $INFORMIXDIR find . -name locator.h -print ./incl/tools/locator.h ./incl/esql/locator.h <---- only changed this one ./incl/dmi/locator.h . . . . locator.h source code snippette . int (*loc_open)(); int (*loc_close)(); int (*loc_read)(); int (*loc_write)(); /* int (*loc_open)(struct tag_loc_t *loc, int flag, int bsize); */ /* USER: open function */ /* int (*loc_close)(struct tag_loc_t *loc); */ /* USER: close function*/ /* int (*loc_read)(struct tag_loc_t *loc, char *buffer, int buflen); */ /* USER: read function */ /* int (*loc_write)(struct tag_loc_t *loc, char *buffer, int buflen); */ /* USER: write function */ /* USER/INTERNAL: see flag definitions below */ int loc_oflags; In article <8bgcju$h0m$1@malgudi.oar.net>, william@carsinfo.com (William Harris) wrote: >I noticed that nobody else wanted to suggest the other alternative, which was >to modify locator.h to put in an #ifdef __STDC__ #else #endif construct. >Since the machine is going out of service shortly anyway, mucking around with >the include files shouldn't pose that serious a threat.
