OnTape : archive backup is corrupted
Posted in 2000
Hi,
I have 2 SCO 5.0.5 machines running IDS 7.30UC2. The primary machine
has a DLT tape drive connected to it on which I have created a 0 level
backup with ontape -s. I am trying to restore this backup on the other
machine (to create to identical machines) i.e. from the networked DLT
on the primary with ontape -r on the secondary.
The dbspaces, chunks, onconfigs, links, kernel parameters are exactly
the same on both machines but I still get an error at the end of the
restore : "Archive backup is corrupted".
I cannot believe that the tape is corrupt because I tried this numerous
times. Might It be because the restore is taking place over the
network ?
Any help would be appreciated...
Johan.
