Removing and adding disks to a mirrorred system

Hi, One of our SAN storages needs maintenance and we will have to take the controller down. Our database is mirror over two SAN storages and we are wondering what's the best way to perform the action. We are hoping it can be done without taking any chunks offline. We know informix works perfectly with one chunk failure but what happens when the chunk returns? Do we have to reinitialize it or does informix automatically sees which one has the most recent data on it? We are currently running IDS version 11.10. any hints are welcome. Kind regards, wimpunk.
I am a bit rusty on Informix mirroring because I only use hardware mirroring. And speaking of that, each SAN is RAID 5! So, after reading the "fine" manuals, I would probably shut down that one SAN, do the maintenance, and then re-mirror (informix mirror) from scratch. Others more familiar with Informix mirroring will probably post better suggestions. L.S.
I would use onspaces to bring down the chunks who would be offline.
Do maintainance recreate devs/sym links used.
Then when all is done i would use onspaces to bring back online the
chunks that were offline.
The sys. reserved pages record what is offline.
This can all be done online providing you do not run into a bug; So
test it first please. if you do run into this bug;
then you have to bounce; in that case i would not recreate the sym
link/dev for the first chunk in rootdbs,
i would bounce and after that i would recreate the link/dev and then
use onspaces to bring back the rootchunks mirror.
