For security reasons, you should _never_ make anyone other than
informix a member of group informix.
I would be more inclined to think that there was some other
permission problem, but you don't have to be informix or group
informix to run dbimport.
You might want to check the permissions on the .exp directory and its
files, also ensure that the permissions on your Informix executables
are correct ($INFORMIXDIR/bin/*, $INFORMIXDIR/lib/sqlturbo if you
have OnLine 5 and $INFORMIXDIR/lib/sqlexec if you have SE)
