Evening all, I've taken the dramatic step of setting up a SourceForge project so that we can build a semi-intelligent configuration tool as a user community project. https://sourceforge.net/projects/ids-config We've heard a lot of talk, are we going to see any action? ;o) -- Bye now, Obnoxio "I'm astonished anyone pays real money for this crap." -- Cosmo -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by OpenProtect(http://www.openprotect.com), and is believed to be clean.

What are you planning as the implementation language? PHP could be one possibility... Any thoughts about the design? Reading existing configurations, or onconfig.std, and providing buttons to choose parts to configure? Some bits are mandatory for a new configuration (server name, number, root path). And would it also do an sqlhosts file? What about odbc.ini files -- or is that just dating myself? And the registry on Windows? -- Jonathan Leffler #include <disclaimer.h> Email: jleffler@earthlink.net, jleffler@us.ibm.com Guardian of DBD::Informix v2005.02 -- http://dbi.perl.org/
