An alternative to the second line above would simply be:
$ isql dbname sql_statement
The ".sql" in the filename "sql_statement.sql" can be omitted. If
you don't have isql, just substitute "dbaccess" for it. I have no idea
whether Clem's version or mine is more effective or whether it doesn't
make any difference at all.
