First of all many thanks for the help on the previous post (retrieving data via cgi scripts) I am now trying to get Web Datablade (4.0) working. However I find that it is only compatible with Apache 1.3.4 and 1.3.6 and I am on version 1.3.9. This is the most recent vesion of Web Datablade that I can find. The machine notes (shown below) indicate that you should modify the Configuration.tmpl Apache file. Is it possible to edit this file anyway although my version of Apache is 1.3.9? I have tried looking for this on my system (Redhat Linux with Apache and Informix) but cannot find it, can someone give me an idea of its location. What are my options if this is not possible? Many thanks once again for your time and help. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------- LINUX MACHINE_NOTES This is the machine-notes for the Web DataBlade 4.00.UC1 on LINUX. 1. Since netscape enterprice server is not avaliable on this platform, nsapi webdriver is not supported. 2. This release supports Apache server 1.3.4 and 1.3.6. When configuring the Apache Webdriver, the following steps need to be performed to compile informix module into the Apache Server binary. The entries in steps a) and b) should not contain any carriage returns: it should fit on exactly one line. a) add the following Informix directories to the EXTRA_LDFLAGS option in the Configuration.tmpl(This file is located in apache source directory). -L<INFORMIXDIR>/lib -L<INFORMIXDIR>/lib/esql -L<INFORMIXDIR>/extend/web.4.00.UC1/apache b) add the following libraries to the EXTRA_LIBS option in the Configuration.tmpl. -lifxw -lifsql -lifasf -lifgen -lifos -lifgls <INFORMIXDIR>/lib/esql/checkapi.o -lifglx -lm -ldl c) copy and rename the file explode.o. cp <INFORMIXDIR>/extend/web.4.00.UC1/apache/explode.o <APACHEDIR>/src/modules/informix/informix.o d) go to directory <APACHEDIR> and run the following command. ./configure --activate-module=src/modules/informix/informix.o --enable-module=informix --prefix=<APACHEDIR> e) after step d), open the Makefile located in <APACHEDIR>/src/modules and change the line MODULES=standard informix to MODULES=standard f) go back to directory <APACHEDIR> and do the following. make make install In the preceding list, INFORMIXDIR refers to the full pathname of main informix directory, and APACHEDIR is the full pathname of apache directory. To configure httpd.conf, please refers to the Web Administrator's Guide for more information.
Hi,
we have a SUN 4000 with solaris 2.5.1, 6 processors (5 for informix),
3,5 GB
RAM, 1 A1000 Hardware-Raid and 24 harddisks with raw-devices. Our
database use
24 2GB Raw-Devices with mirrored dbspace. Our backup-tool is the
networker 5.1
at a 8 slot jukebox.
On friday the database crashes and 4 harddisks are damaged. So I install
a new
database on the A1000 and want to import the data from the tape into the
new
db with onbar -r -w. But the networker loaded only an empty rootdbs.
How can i restore the data from a tape with onbar??
This night I copy the raw-devices with dd on the A1000. I have a
complete backup
from last week and want to restore this data. But i don´t know what to
do.
Thanks for help
Gerhard

Rob - Red Hat comes with only the binary of the Apache Web Server. You need to download the latest version of the Apache Web Server (from www.apache.org 1.3.12) and build it yourself. Also, linking the Informix Webdriver/Apache Server does not work exactly as described in the Administrator's Guide - so allow for adjustments.
