Re: Problem with Informix 6.0 with OSF/dce libraries on hp

I would suggest that there is a name-clash between the 6.0 ESQL/C libaries and the DCE libraries. Using nm(1) on the various libraries to see what functions are defined -- both Informix and DCE -- you should be able to find the name of the culprit routine (or possibly a variable, but that is less likely). What you do after you have found the problem is less clear, but it gives you useful information to feed back to Informix via Technical Support and maybe the routine name would be changed eventually. There were substantial changes in the connectivity layers between ESQL/C 5.0x and 6.0x, so it is not so surprising that there was a problem in the transition. Roll on standard C++ namespaces, which will allow everyone to get around these problems. I am using }informix 6 on hp machine (9.0). I have written a simple embedded program( test.ec). }This program connects to the SQL server, and works fine.
