FW: Shared Memory Segments are not removed

We see the same problem on 10.20 and 11.0 HP-UX. We have traced it down to process's still having open file's to these shared memory segments. remove the processes and the segments will be removed by the OS, that is what the "D" is for. In our case we have found it easier to re-boot the system. Wayne E. Sometimes, shared memory segments do not get removed at the O/S level after Informix shutdown. ipcs -m shows these segments flagged with "D" under mode column. Removing these segments using ipcrm does not work either. What could be the cause of this? And how to avoid it? Thanks, Shehla
