Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
I would like to create a simple webpage that lists the status of all
our informix db instances.
The page will be located on a web server WITHOUT informix installed.
Is it possible to remotely check and see if a particular instance is
up/down? Perhaps using telnet to log into the server port number and
see if anything is listening?
Any ideas or suggestions? Is there perhaps a unix utility available
that can do this task? (ie: input a host and tcp connect and it
queries if up/down, etc..)
Thanks.

Have you considered IBM Informix ISA??
Here are some links ...
http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/db2/zones/informix/library/techarticle/sm_prodinfo.htmlhttp://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/download/product.jsp?id=MBEN-4ZLHHX&s=z&cat=&S_TACT=TrialsAndBetas&S_CMP=
However it is easier to do a google search on
"Informix Server Administrator (ISA)"
and select the top link.
