I have INFORMIX 7.24.UC7 and I will like to known means of columns
wakeups and io/wup in onstat -g iov command
AIO I/O vps:
class/vp s io/s totalops dskread dskwrite dskcopy wakeups io/wup
msc 0 i 0.0 17106 0 0 0 16804 1.0
aio 0 i 13.4 5091800 4805061 286640 0 3024226 1.7
aio 1 i 9.8 3708607 3422165 286414 0 1731819 2.1
aio 2 i 8.3 3130582 2848497 282078 0 1162277 2.7
aio 3 i 7.6 2866647 2589369 277272 0 953933 3.0
pio 0 i 0.0 8473 0 8473 0 8462 1.0
lio 0 i 0.0 4797 0 4797 0 4798 1.0
What is the optimal relation in io/wup?
Thanks

Before you buy.
The column wakeups is literally the number of times each VP was awakened
from an idle sleep when it had not been needed then suddenly was. The next
column, io/wkup, is how many I/O requests the VP satisfied, on average, each
time it was awakened. One use of this last is that if all of your AIO VPs
have an io/wkup > 1.0 that means that at peak you always have IO requests
waiting in the queue even when all of the VPs are awake. You want to add
AIO VPs until one or a few (say 2-3 if you have many AIO VPs one if only
a few total) normally shows io/wkup <1.0 (say 0.9) meaning at least some of
the time it was awakened another VP had already finished what it was doing
and emptied the queue before the newly awakened VP could. If a large
percent of your AIO VPs are <1.0 you have too many, reduce unless the
current stats do not include some critical super-peak periodic job.
