4GL Reports to user defined files

DATABASE db_name MAIN --> DEFINE rpt_name CHAR(40) --> PROMPT "Enter report name: " FOR rpt_name sql statements, etc deleted.. --> START REPORT report_name to rpt_name ^^^^^^^^^^^ remainder of report deleted.. Define the variable name, prompt for it and just add the to 'variable name' in START REPORT statement. You can even enter full path names for the variable name, ex. (/work4/acct/bsoren/testreport.out). Hope this helps. Robert ...........................................................................
