Over 1,000 days of 24x7 database uptime!
Posted in 2011
Not a problem thread -- it's a boast/congratulations exchange. Lester Knutsen reported a customer's IDS 10.00.FC8 reaching 1,000 days of continuous uptime; others joked that the version is out of support and an upgrade (already planned) would end the streak. Christian Knappke countered with a 9.40.FC5X3 dev box at nearly 1,000 days, noting he's unworried about an eventual restart since the SAP dev system can be rebuilt, and mentioning in passing that SAP's ST04 screen doesn't display four-digit uptime values correctly. No technical issue or fix is recorded.

Top stuff!
Obviously they'll need to bring it down sometime within the next 63days to
upgrade to a supported version .... ;-)
Upgrade projects are well under way. ;-)

I was wondering if the last time this engine was down was to upgrade it to 10.00.FC8 1000 days ago.
1000 days without an unplanned outage is one thing, but 1000 days of continuous up time is most impressive.

They beat mine just bit ...
IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 9.40.FC5X3 -- On Line -- Up 999

Yes, I know, it's way old.

Great!
But don't you fear the next "reboot"... :o)

No. It is a small dev. system (SAP basis Rel 6.20) and I have
everything I need stored elsewhere (transports, unloads). So I can
rebuild it from scratch if reboot/restore/something else fails.
Meanwhile I noticed that the start screen of ST04 does not display
four digit up-time values correctly ...
