Two-phase commit allows a transaction to be transparent on all database servers involved. Data integrity is ok, but transmission it's wery slow. Transaction with about 3 inserts/updates from one DB to another willt take about 3-5 seconds or even more with 9600 speed. To improve speed, I can recommend to exchange data between servers within a single transaction. Faster, but more complex way to syncronize data is mailing some text files in unload format (or more complex, to syncronize several multiple-table transactions in proper order) from one daemon to another. I've used both - 2PC and mail. 2PC gets more consistency, mail - more speed. WBR, Vadim J. Nikitin
