shared memory problem

On 7.2.0, I'm getting a message in the log that is as follows:
14:34:11 shmat: [EINVAL][22]: shared memory base address illegal
14:34:11 using 0xd0000000, needs 0xffffffff
14:34:11 out of virtual shared memory
Could someone explain this for me and suggest a remedy?
Hi David.
Plz. supply your $ONCONFIG file. Reviewing your kernel parameters would be good. If your server is still running, output from onstat -g seg may be helpful.

Here is the onstat -g seg...and it's 7.3 and 7.2....
$onstat -g seg

Check in the files
$INFORMIXDIR/release/0333/en_us/IDS*
$INFORMIXDIR/release/0333/en_us/ONLINE*
You probably need to add an entry for
SHMBASE
into the ONCONFIG file. Also increase SHMVIRTSIZE so that
onstat -g seg only shows 1 segment of type 'V'.

Usually due to the kernel parameter SHMMAX not being high enough.

I would add 'Please do not send spam to this account'
but I suppose I would be wasting my bits.
