I dont want to re-code all the app!...and i prefer using unix/informix. If you still have the source (.4gl's, as opposed to .4gi's), then D4GL may be what you are looking for. It allows you to recompile the existing I4GL code and run a display on a Windows 95/98/NT box with a more-or-less Windows-like GUI. You can enhance the code to improve the appearance on Windows, without necessarily damaging the ability to run the same code under Classic 4GL. If you only have the .4gi's (the compiled interpretables), then the answer is "No". In principle you could reverse engineer the code, but that is sufficiently hard to do that you would not bother except in the most extreme of circumstances -- I don't know of anybody who has reverse engineered the code, though I've had many people ask... -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.60 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
That's kind of cryptic but I think you need D4GL which will let you develop on UNIX and you can have the client portion run on WinNT in a native windowing environment and/or on UNIX text terminals or native Xwindows.
