This is a good idea, using a text file to store carraige returns.
However, how does this help the operator swap tapes if the ontape takes
more than one tape? We are using a single tape device (not a jukebox).
Thanks,
Uday

Inside our command file we set the environment and then the following:
c:\\informix\\bin\\ontape -s -L 0 >archive.log < archive.txt
where archive.txt contains 2 (or more) returns.

I am calling the ontape utility from a bat file on an NT server. Does
anyone
know how to feed /pass the return key code so that the user does not
have to? I
want to start un-attended backups.
TIA.
