A half year ago i planned to install KAIO on HP/UX 10.20 to, but HP, Informix
and this newsgroup warned me NOT to do it.
There was a big chanche of problems and it wouldn't give a better performance.
It was better to upgrade to HP-UX 11.0 first.
This doesn´t help you but maybe you can check your kernelparameters for
semaphores, shared memory etc.... see your release notes in
$INFORMIXDIR/release/..?

There's a performance bug which means that you should not use kaio on HP-UX
10.20 with v7.24 UC7 or lower (unless you want to be fired, I suppose!).
On later version it's fines. I run a production server with v7.31 UC5 on
HP-UX 10.20 with kaio, no problem.
I don't know what your problem below is, but I'd start with kernel parameter
settings as my prime suspect.
