have you tried using DBTEMP instead of PSORT_DBTEMP? http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/idshelp/v10/topic/com.ibm.sqlr.doc/sqlrmst194.htm?resultof=%
Nope, that didn't work. But it caused me to find the issue. It looks like only user Informix is able to successfully implement the PSORT_DBTEMP variable. When I am the application user, and export it, the engine doesn't listen to it. But if I set it as user informix and run my create index statements as user informix, then it sorts in the correct place. I'm not sure if I'm still missing some issue, but for now, at least this will work.
