Hi, depending on the version you have you may use the backup verification utility "archecker". Please see the "Backup and Restore Guide" manual for more information on this. In newer versions of IDS, this also works for ON-Bar, with a command like "onbar ... -v ..." (also described in that manual). As it is software as well, it may detect only 99% of possible archive/backup problems, but that's better than nothing. And it saves having that extra system for testing a real restore.
